Top Floor
I am writing this review for the last two times we have been here! I know, I was lazy on the first one.
Let me start by saying that we have been to VERY few restaurants twice since we started this blog. Why? Well, there are so many damn restaurants in Atlanta that we have to continue trying new ones before we can re-visit ones that we like. However, with Top Floor we made an exception. The first time we tried it was after reading a review in the well written and quality food newsletter, Knife and Fork. We were introduced to the owner of the restaurant as we know an associate of his. He confirmed to us that they were only 6 weeks young and were still getting things figured out. Well, after 6 weeks, we don’t know how they could figure anything else out any better.
The restuarant is located at the corner of Myrtle and Ponce in Midtown in the same building as Papi’s Cuban sandwiches. You walk into the restaurant on the main floor and there is a bar and waiting area and then you take the stairs to the “Top Floor” for the dining room. It is relatively small. No more than 50 people could probably dine at the same time. They have multiple tables and booth setups, with the majority of the room set up to accomdate couples or groups of 4. It is a modern look with its lighting, table and chair designs.
The menu is small, but has something for everybody. From the duck pizza to great hummus to start, to delicious salads, strip steak, and numerous pastas. Both times we went (once by ourselves and another time with another couple), we ordered the hummus to start. It is served with warm bread and has a couple of artichokes in with it. Also comes with a side of olives. I will briefly describe most things that we have ordered but it is safe to say that absolutely EVERYTHING that we have gotten or tried here has been delicious! The steak is literally $12 and extremely tasty. Yes, I am not lying. You can get a steak and a side of delicious mac and cheese for $16. It is not a 24 ouncer, but it is a nice strip that compliments an appetizer and side dish well. The pork was awesome. The duck pasta was out of this world! The salad that Jenny got with the honey lavendar dressing was so good. Think of that taste, “Honey Lavender”. It just sounds good and it was. Honestly, there is no more description necessary, everything that we have gotten on the menu has been delicious. It is a must try.
Their wine menu is also satisfactory and they are very willing to allow tastings to make sure that you are making a good decision. We have gone through our fair share of bottles at Top Floor. Also, they pride themselves on their extravagant chocolate choices, which come from around the world, but I guess we are simple minded when it comes to dessert and would rather a warm brownie and vanilla ice cream. Their truffles are constantly raved about so if that’s your thing you will most likely enjoy.
As mentioned with the steak price. The prices here are EXTREMELY reasonable. If you are not ordering bottles of wine, you can get out of here at $40 per couple. Which we all know in ATL, that is a great feat!
Overall, this is a must. Enjoy.

The steak was extremely good. It needs to be accompanied by one of their side dishes in order to be filling though. You are right on the duck pasta. I have never heard of a duck pasta before, but they do it well there. My reservation got pushed back a long time and the restaurant comp’d a round of drinks and continually gave updates on the status of our table, which was very nice. I think you have the name of the place wrong…should be top flr
