Shorty’s

We went to Shorty’s on Saturday night around 8. There was about a 25 minute wait, but we ended up scoring some seats at the bar after about 2. The Braves game was on-all was good.

We had been there a long time ago (pre-blog), but I always remembered the taste of the spaghetti squash salad, and the actual taste did not dissapoint my memory. It may sound strange, but its just squash in spaghetti form over arugula in a light/fresh dressing. Delicious! Also-the Greek salad and the guac look amazing for apps.

We were in the mood of pizza and ordered one of their specialities. I forget the clever name, but it was a white pizza with caramalized onions, roasted tomatoes, sausage and cilantro. The crust is thin, oven-brick style. Perfectly cooked, crispy and burnt just a touch.

We became friends with some people at the bar, and she let me taste her salmon. It really was delicious-simply flavored so as not to hide the freshness. It came with asparagus and roasted potatoes.

The scene as a whole is very friendly. It is very much a neighborhood joint, where you can come hang out-drink some beer and eat good food. We found out that the current owners-used to own Dish..just to throw that out there! We became friends with the bartender, Shac (sounds like Shaq), who will serve up cold beers or his favorite wine of the night. Go. Enjoy!
