Fritti

Everytime we drive past Fritti-the place is packed. People are always hanging out on the front patio–having an enjoyable time. We did the same the other night.

To us, Fritti is a lot like Osteria..maybe even a little better. There was a little wait for four people on a Wednesday night. We were all starving and decided to order a few apps. Unfortunately..they did not have any bread to bring us..which we all thought was odd considering the place is Italian. We ended up getting calamari and a flat bread served with olive oil. Both tasted average. The calamari mainly tasted fried..it had no exciting seasoning. The bread was basically pizza crust-but did the trick.

I had checked out the menu online beforehand and gotten excited about a scallop and shrimp salad. However, it was no longer on the menu..so beware that they do change things up every once and a while. I ended up with an asparagus salad. Nothing too exciting..asparagus, arugula, parmesean cheese and oil.

So I guess so far the review has been mediocre..but we all really enjoyed the pizza. Mitchell and I ordered one with proscutto and arugula. The arugula covered the whole thing and made it look almost intimidating..but the taste was fabulous. The other couple ordered a veggie pizza. They enjoyed it..their only complaint was that the veggies came in sections. Meaning all the mushrooms covered one portion all the peppers another. They would rather have the veggies spread evenly across.

Depending on your hunger, one pizza should be enoughfor two people, especially with a few apps beforehand. All in all, the place had a nice, relaxed vibe. We would like to check out their brunch ($2 mimosas/bloody mary’s) and also their sister restaurant next door-Sotto Sotto. It is more of an upscale restaurant but still reasonably priced. Let us know if you have been!
