Tap
A few of us decided to check out Tap for happy hour on Friday. So did a lot of others-because the place was decently full. We wanted to sit outside-but they would not seat us until everyone arrived. By that time..we just decided to grab a table inside so we did not have to wait.
I always get overwhelmed with such a broad menu of beers-but the bartenders are very helpful. Just give them a little direction and they hook you up. They also offer samples if you still can’t decide.
The food menu is not huge but what we had, we really liked. We ordered nuts, season bay chickpeas and stuffed peppers for appetizers. They were all average–we just wanted something to munch on. However, one of the people we were with knew the executive chef, and he decided to send over a few apps. He sent stuffed mushrooms-delic-and everyone’s favorite-a bruchetta with a twist. The tomatoes we put on top had a sweet flavor that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The buffalo flavored calamari was also a hit.
The main choice for the entree was the burger. It came on an english muffin along with an abudnance of shoestring fries and a little sample of a chocolate milkshake. We all asked for our burgers to be medium or medium rare–they were all overcooked but were still juicy and flavorful-so it was not a huge deal. Mitchell and I actually split the burger because of all the apps we had eaten and I am not kidding when I say an abundance of shoestring fries!
I feel like the hostess’ are a little unorganized-but that could change as the place is still pretty new. Our server was pretty good, he gladly split our checks up which was very nice of him. All in all, the place has a great scene. People of all ages and dress that all want to drink some beers and hang out in the heart of midtown. We definitely suggest you guys check this place out, if not for a meal, just for a beer or two on a nice day.
Oh and by the way–parking. There is a complimentary valet. However, we had to pay $7 for staying longer than 3 hours but my friends did not. So I suggest asking the valet/restaurant what exactly the deal is.

I have been to Tap and had a similar experience. The location is awesome for a quick drink and bite to eat after work. Tap’s menu is very light on the options, which says to me that they want to be known for their beverage offering more than their food. I also had the english muffin burger and much like you, mine was overcooked. But, overall, the restaurant space is nice, conducive to the big party or little nooks where a couple can have a drink and chat.

The thing I disliked most about Tap was the walk to the ladies room, which is up some flights of stairs, across the dining area, and tucked away. Not a great place to get drunk, especially in heels.
But I had a sandwich with pate and fig and it was really lovely!
