Repast

We had heard from a few people now that Repast was excellent-so we picked it when Mitchell’s parents wanted to take us out to dinner.

We kept adding more people to the reservation-with no problem at all-which made us a little nervous. When we arrived at 8:30, the place was decently full. They sat us immediately upstairs. The decorations were sleek and modern.

The menu was fairly small. It had one dish of every kind of meat and a couple of fish options. I had looked at the menu online and already decided I wanted to try the asparagus salad with mushrooms and an egg. Weird combination maybe-but it tasted fabulous! Others ordered the standard salad-and were also pleased. We also split a crabcake for an app—most people loved it-I thought it tasted a little too lemony. Unfortunately, they were already out of a mozzarella special as an appetizer—which was pretty early in the evening to already be out of something– in our opinions.

I ordered the salmon wrapped in grape leaf—and I honestly loved it. It just had a great flavor and was cooked to perfection—a perfect amount of pink in the middle. Others ordered the lamb chops, chicken and the shrimp and grits special. Also, the root vegetable fries as a side were out of this world.

We did not see anything exciting on the dessert menu-so we opted for cookies and ice cream from Publix. I think everyone enjoyed their meal—but not as much as me. The boys thought the place was too fru fru—didn’t have a great menu and the portions were too small. I disagree. Most upscale restaurants do not serve huge portions-and I left perfectly content. I think they were in the mood for a big steak or something.

Anyway, I think Repast is worth checking out, but I guess there are others we would recommend first.
