Cafe Intermezzo

We hit up Intermezzo after Nickiemoto’s on a Saturday night and we were SO glad that we did. We were waiting to meet up with some other friends and we wanted to grab some dessert. I had heard of Intermezzo being a good after dinner drink-type of place, but nothing much other than that.

We walked in at 9:15 and sat right down at a small quaint table for two. They brought us a dinner menu first. As we glanced over the menu we saw many good meals that ranged all over the board from cheese tortellini to a bagel and lox dish to many good salads and sandwiches. The menu looked like a solid choice if you cannot make up your mind and need many options to choose from. However, since we were coming from a sushi meal, we asked to see a drink menu. We were pleasantly surprised to be handed a 30 some page menu with pages and pages of coffees (alcoholic and non), teas, liquor (shots and drinks), beer, wine, and more. It was unbelievable. I ordered an Irish coffee and Jenny got an espresso with nutella mixed in and at the bottom. There were so many unique combinations of after dinner drinks. Jenny was extremely excited to find a nutella flavored drink! Regardless, we ordered our drinks and asked to hang onto a menu to continue perusing.

Next was time for dessert. There is no menu, but you walk up to the counter and there are employees that help guide your decision for which cake to go for. They have every dessert that you can imagine from chocolate cakes upon chocolate cakes, cheese cakes, fruit cakes, but we went with a chocolate chip cookie cake warmed up with a scoop of ice cream. It was just what we were looking for after sushi. The cake was just OK, but nothing special. We’ll definitely go for something more exciting next time.

Overall, we really liked this place. Great place to take a date, enjoy a small meal, coffee, dessert and a couple drinks. Plenty of 2 person tables and a cool scene with good looking people and nice atmosphere.
