Sakura

Ok this is it. Hands down our favorite sushi place in Atlanta. Just one small problem-its all the way out in East Cobb. So annoying-but so worth the trip! The place is nothing special-it has wooden chairs and some random green carpet, but whatever-the sushi is fabulous!

We made friends with the host, and apparently they get their fish from the same distributor MF Sushi does, they just price it more reasonably because of their location. Finally we found a spicy tuna roll for $5—and it was good! All the rolls we had were awesome and reasonably priced. The specialty rolls were over ten dollars, but they were big and filled with fish. We got four rolls and loved them—you must try the Dynamite, Triangle, Sakura and “Trust Me” rolls. Mitchell’s dad got sashimi-and it melted in our mouths. We were also introduced to some exceptional tasting saki—but that definitely brought up the bill at around $20 a bottle.

To be perfectly honest, the ginger dressing was not great-no one loved the miso soup-and the teriyaki was a bit bland-but tasted fine. But if sushi is what you are looking for-this place rules! The presentation, price and taste are the best we have found so far!

Wow! Sounds D-lish! This really made me want to try out Sakura the next time I’m in Atlanta. It’s always scary trying out new sushi restaurants…..because there is nothing worse than bad sushi - thanks!

This is by far the best sushi that I have found also in Atlanta. It is a little hard to find sushi places that use real good fish. The atmosphere is very relaxing, because of the location. Most of the time you are able to get in right away. The specialty rolls are some of the best around. Definitely a sushi place that is worth the drive if you are located in midtown.
