Season’s 52

Well, I (Jenny) am a bit of a chain snob, but I didn’t find out that this place was all over Florida and owned by the same group as Red Lobster until after my meal :) . Jenny actually found it on an Airtran flight. Their in-flight magazine features a few Atlanta restaurants, and this one caught her eye because all the meals are under 475 calories. After we looked at the menu online, we definitely wanted to go-they even featured filet mignon!

It was somewhat hard to get a reservation on a Thursday night, they were booked until 8:45. We arrived on time and they were just getting our table together, the hostess’ were very amiable. The bar was packed and a man on his piano entertained for the evening.

The menu was extensive and everything looked great. Unfortunately, both of our choices turned out to be average. Jenny got the venison chop cooked at the chef’s preference which is closer to rare. That is fine, but the outside was charred and the inside was red and it ended up a little too chewey. Mitchell got the shrimp stuffed with crab pasta. We both thought it tasted average. When the waiter asked if we wanted dessert, he brought over a tray filled with little glasses of dessert. We thought we would pick out a few and he would bring over the real ones, but instead he took them right out and served the very same ones! That surprised us, but it was fresh and delicious and very portion controlled!

I guess the food tasting average should be expected at such few calories? Maybe we were hoping for too much? All in all, it was nicely decorated and had friendly service, but the entrees were a bit pricey, in our opinion, for a chain (in the $20’s) and the drinks definitely brought the bill way up.
