Trois
I (Jenny) went to Trois on a business lunch, with two others. It definitely has a bustling lunch scene. Pretty much every table was full. The décor was very simple yet elegant, both people I was with commented on the lighting-they felt it gave the room a very open and natural ambiance.
The menu offered a good amount of seafood. We got the seafood sampler as an appetizer, which was priced around $11, and the three of us did not finish everything. It came with lumps of crab, lobster, scallops and shrimp, each seasoned differently. It was pretty good-definitely not my favorite part of the meal.
Two of us got the recommended tuna and the third got the steak burger. The tuna came with palenta, a deviled egg and some grilled veggies. We both got our tuna cooked rare, but I imagine you can get it any way you please. So good it tasted! It came with two pieces of tuna and a good amount of sides, I ate it all, and was full but not stuffed. I got to try the steak burger, and loved that as well.
The tuna was probably the most expensive item on the menu. It cost around $14 and I think the burger was around $11. There were definitely some items under $10. I am sure you can not say the same about their dinner menu.
The server convinced us to share the chocolate cake for dessert. Best advice ever! That cake was perfect, probably one of my favorite chocolate cakes I have had in a while, and I am obsessed with chocolate.
Despite the servers’ good advice, she was pretty bad. She was extremely inattentive and slow. It took us a little over two hours to get out of there, and by the time we left, everyone was gone except for her tables. She really was not on the ball. In fact, the manager ended up bringing us our check because she was no where to be found.
I really have not heard anything great about eating dinner there. Service has always been an issue and some people are disappointed with portion size. For lunch, the service dilemma is the same, but everyone really enjoyed their meals and left feeling completely satisfied.
