Dish

We were meeting one of our dinner date couples at Dish on this rainy night. We had always driven by this cool looking joint on North Highland and wanted to try it. We had an 8:30 reservation and got there at about 8:20. We went to the bar, had a couple drinks and didn’t hear from anybody for another 30 minutes. After a little complaining, the hostess retrieved us some appetizer popcorn and bread to munch on at the bar while we waited for a group of people to get up from what was to be our table. We didn’t sit until 9:15 or so, but the appetizers and hostess helped the frustration. To the actual restaurant…..

The restaurant is in an old gas station. Provides for a cool décor and feeling inside. We sat out on the patio which was well heated for a cold, rainy night.

For an appetizer, we ordered a salmon pizza, which was good but we thought we were ordering the flat bread app that looked so wonderful on everyone’s table. Definitely look out for that! As for the rest of the menu, we all agreed that we could order just about everything. There was a greaty variety of choices and everything sounded delicious.

Jenny and our lady friend ordered the veggie dish with palenta-which they both really enjoyed. Mitchell got the lobster lasagna. It ended up consisting of mainly lobster chunks instead of a lot of pasta-which was a great surprise. Our other friend ordered the short ribs and enjoyed them thoroughly.

We all agreed that the total meal was very tasty, and we were all extremely pleased. The service at the table was good with water constantly full and a decent amount of attention. Attention to our table came to a head when we asked for the dessert menus. Instead of menus the waitress proceeded to bring us out 4 of the restaurant’s signature desserts ON THE HOUSE!!! She said it was from the owner who just so happened to be the hostess who was dealing with us while we waited. It was completely unexpected and enjoyable.
Desserts:

Banana something-or-another: Good

Chocolate cake: extremely rich, but great for you chocolate lovers

Sherbert: refreshing after a large meal

Crème brulee: three crème brulees flavors-and each hit the spot nicely
