The Real Chow Baby
This restaurant has an interesting premise behind it. Their forte is stir fry, but it is all you can eat and you physically pick the ingredients off a buffet. You can make traditional stir fry, soup or a salad. We have only done stir fry, but the other options sound interesting.
First you choose from rice or a variety of noodles. Moving down the line, the buffet offers every veggie possible and then you get to pick a sauce. The board behind you tells you the calorie information for each sauce, which many find helpful. Then you fill a separate bowl up with whatever kind of meat you choose. They offer steak, chicken, tofu and a few kinds of fish. You season the meat and then leave the bowls at the end of the counter for the cooks to stir fry together. The waitress brings out your creation quickly, and when you are done-go back for more.
We suggest making small plates so you can check out different sauces. Plus, you might not always make the best mixtures. We have enjoyed the plum, black bean and kung pao. It costs about $12 per person and it’s pretty much always crowded…especially on the weekends! It is located in the bottom of lofts off Howell Mill, however parking is not a problem as they have free valet service.
